The CTXD is designed to assess distress specific to cancer and its treatment, as distinct from general anxiety or depression. It has been tested with hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients (autologous and allogeneic) at multiple time points with adequate to excellent reliabilities. The measure has also been used with well over 1000 non-transplant cancer patients.
The CTXD comes in Patient and Caregiver versions. The Caregiver version (CG-CTXD) uses similar items as the one used for patients but also includes items specific to caregivers.
