BELLEVUE — July 1, 2020 — "A central part of our mission is to ensure people have access to the best cancer treatments as close to their community and loved ones as possible," said Dr. Nancy Davidson, executive director and president of SCCA. "We are excited to combine SCCA’s world-class cancer program with the outstanding cancer care environment at Overlake to provide patients on the Eastside with the most advanced cancer care treatments provided by the best specialists."
Through this collaboration, SCCA will provide hematology/medical oncology and infusion services, while Overlake will continue to provide radiation oncology, surgical oncology, inpatient oncology care and ancillary services, such as imaging and physical therapy.
"Overlake is committed to innovating and collaborating with community partners in ways that advance the care we provide to the Eastside," said Overlake President and CEO J. Michael Marsh. "This affiliation is founded on the shared values and care philosophies of the two organizations.”
As Washington state’s only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center, SCCA brings together the leading research teams and cancer specialists from Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Seattle Children’s and UW Medicine. The organization is committed to delivering patient-centered, high-quality care through a multidisciplinary approach—one that combines cancer experts, groundbreaking treatment and comprehensive care from referrals to survivorship—in collaboration with its partners.
SCCA will provide services at the Overlake Cancer Center in Bellevue, a state-of-the-art facility that received a $20 million upgrade in 2017. With an established and growing system of clinics along the continuum of care, Overlake has earned national recognition for its clinical quality and safety.
SCCA and Overlake will collaborate to ensure seamless care coordination throughout every stage of a patient's care journey.
