SEATTLE — July 26, 2020 — At SCCA, we support an individual’s right to protest, and also recognize that we are still in the midst of a viral pandemic that is driven by social gatherings, transmitted through close contact, and associated with morbidity and mortality among those affected by the disease. Since the start of the COVID-19 outbreak, SCCA has been committed to preventing the spread of the disease and protecting our staff and patients. We have established thorough safety guidelines for all those who enter our clinic, which include front-door screening for COVID-19 symptoms for both staff and patients and mandatory masking.
For employees who choose to exercise their right to protest, SCCA has developed comprehensive guidelines modeled on those created by Public Health — Seattle & King County. These guidelines provide steps employees can take to help limit exposures, protect themselves and protect our community from COVID-19 while taking part in local protests. They are not intended to discourage anyone from participating in the protests but are instead provided to guide participation in a safe manner to the extent possible.
We recognize that these are unprecedented and stressful times; we remain committed to continuing to deliver world-class care while safeguarding the health and well-being of our patients and our employees.
