SEATTLE — September 8, 2020 — Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA), committed to delivering patient-centered, high-quality cancer care as the only NCCN-designated cancer center in Washington State, announced that members of its clinical nursing staff will participate in 10 poster presentations during the 2020 Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Bridge Virtual Conference. The meeting is being held September 8, 10, 15 and 17, 2020.
ONS BridgeTM aims to connect oncology research and education by discussing clinical evidence and practical changes to oncology nursing and care. Presentations will encompass a variety of topics including in-practice clinical nursing, care delivery approaches and the integration of research into practice. This work adds to nurses’ efforts to advance cancer care nationwide by incorporating research into daily clinical care.
“SCCA’s nurses are known for their commitment to their patients and for providing the best possible patient care; we are proud of their accomplishments and the acknowledgement of their work,” said Terry McDonnell, DNP, ARNP, MSN, Chief Nurse Executive and Vice President of Clinical Operations at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. “Selected from over 500 submissions, the work presented will contribute to improved clinical practices through research and education both within our organization and at cancer centers across the nation.”
At the ONS Bridge™ conference, SCCA will also receive the Employer Recognition Award from the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation. This award highlights the organization’s excellence in oncology nursing education through its commitment to furthering oncology nursing certification.
“At SCCA, we highly encourage continuing education and support nurses’ interest in pursuing specialized certification that fosters professional growth and development, ensuring our teams have the knowledge and resources they need to deliver the highest quality care,” added McDonnell. “We are honored to be recognized with this award.”
