Maria D’Addario, MS, CGC

Portrait of Maria D’Addario, MS, CGC.

Since January 2024, I've had the privilege of working at Fred Hutch Cancer Center – South Lake Union, bringing over 35 years of experience as a genetic counselor to patients. Relocating from California, my previous work extended beyond cancer genetics, encompassing diverse areas of medical genetics such as research, prenatal care, adult genetics, physician education and guidance/education of future genetic counseling professionals. My journey to becoming a genetic counselor began during my tenure at a research lab at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where I discovered the perfect fusion of my passions: science and human connection.

Outside of work, I am currently becoming certified in EFT (tapping), getting to know the beautiful Pacific Northwest and relishing moments spent with my family and my beloved canine companions.

Patient Care Philosophy

I am dedicated to empowering patients with comprehensible information, ensuring my work resonates with their needs. I strive to deliver information with the utmost accuracy and kindness, fostering a supportive environment for individuals seeking guidance.

I endeavor daily to “be the change you wish to see in the world.”
