Jonathan Siman

Early in my career, I witnessed first-hand the benefits that acupuncture treatments could offer patients undergoing cancer treatment. I decided to further my studies of acupuncture, specifically within the integrative oncology setting. Prior to joining Fred Hutch, I spent seven years at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center working as a clinical and research acupuncturist.

My research interests and publications focus on the use of acupuncture in the integrative oncology setting. My previous studies have examined the ways in which acupuncture can mitigate side effects and improve quality of life in patients undergoing conventional cancer care. I hope to discover new approaches and roles for acupuncture in this population. I am excited to be part of the Fred Hutch Integrative Medicine team that incorporates acupuncture into the standard of care for cancer treatment and cancer survivorship.

Outside of work, I enjoy playing the upright bass, photography and being outdoors.

Patient Care Philosopy

Using an evidence-based approach, my acupuncture practice at Fred Hutch focuses on supporting patients undergoing cancer care, reducing side effects from cancer treatment and improving patients’ quality of life.
