I became a dietitian because of my love of food, culture, science, and helping others lead healthier lives. I joined Fred Hutch in March 2022 and see patients at Fred Hutch Cancer Center – South Lake Union.
I have over 10 years of experience providing nutrition therapy in acute and community settings, including primary care, dialysis, transplant, oncology and critical care. I am passionate about chronic disease prevention and management, especially diabetes, chronic kidney disease, metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (nonalcoholic fatty liver disease), metabolic syndrome and adiposity-based chronic diseases. I also have a special interest in working with people on enteral nutrition (tube feeding) and parenteral nutrition (IV nutrition).
I appreciate the diversity of challenges that each patient brings and the opportunity to continually learn and grow professionally and make a difference in patients’ everyday lives.
Outside of work, I spoil my two dogs, play board games, attend live theater, watch ice hockey and enjoy cozy mysteries.
Clinical Expertise
I primarily see patients in the gastrointestinal, sarcoma and HIPEC/surgical oncology departments.
Patient Care Philosophy
I collaborate with patients to optimize their health using a patient-centered and holistic approach that utilizes multidisciplinary health care providers. I strive to translate clinical recommendations into culturally-appropriate interventions that are considerate of the patient's physical, psychosocial and spiritual health. My counseling style focuses on the individuality of each patient to create sustainable, healthy behavior and lifestyle changes.
