I started working at Fred Hutch in 1996. I see patients at Fred Hutch Cancer Center – South Lake Union.
After taking an elective nutrition course in college, I changed my major from international relations to dietetics. The practical application of nutrition continues to interest me. I enjoy being creative and working together with each patient to find the solutions that will help them meet their goals. Each patient is unique, and this keeps me engaged.
Some patients might assume that because of my appearance, I might not know the foods of their culture. All dietitians are trained to know the foods of a wide range of cultures. I’m here to support each patient in their health and goals with the most up-to-date information in a way as individual as they are.
Outside of work, I practice yoga regularly and I am trained as a yin yoga teacher. Every year in the spring and fall, I forage for wild mushrooms.
Clinical Expertise
I specialize in cellular immunotherapy and hematology.
Patient Care Philosophy
My approach is to hear my patient’s concerns and questions first. Then, after addressing those concerns and questions, I address how their diet will help them medically. I’m passionate and committed.
A lot of patients might feel like they might be judged for the foods that they eat, their health or their weight, and this is not what the nutrition visit at Fred Hutch is. I will meet patients where they are at in terms of ability to implement changes.
