Gynecologic Oncology

“I am part of a team of doctors in your corner, and we’re going to try everything we can to cure you of your cancer.”

— Dr. Goff

Why do you specialize in gynecologic oncology?

I fell in love with the field of gynecologic oncology when I was a medical student at the University of Pennsylvania. It encompassed everything I wanted to do in medicine, from performing surgery to administering chemotherapy to conducting cancer research. On top of that, I knew I would get to develop long-term relationships with patients, providing follow-up care for many years after treatment ended. Gynecologic oncology was, and still is, a perfect fit for me. What I love about my job now is that there are so many long-term cancer survivors in my practice who, according to the statistics, shouldn’t be alive — yet they’ve beaten the odds. It’s so inspiring to be a part of that, to see that our efforts have made a real difference in the lives of patients and their families.

What is it like to work with you?

I am an optimist and the kind of physician who takes an interest in my patients’ lives. I love getting to know people, hearing about what their grandchildren are up to, the recent trip they took or the book they are reading. I also see myself as an advocate for my patients, going the extra mile to ensure they have what they need. Developing partnerships with patients and families and working closely with multidisciplinary experts are the foundation of my approach to care. I am part of a team of doctors in your corner, and we’re going to try everything we can to cure you of your cancer.
