2022 Annual Report

The first annual report from the Basic Sciences Division after the merger to become the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. This was a large effort to integrate the research and clinical efforts and demonstrate that Basic Sciences continues to be critical to the mission of the new Fred Hutch. The year had many highlights including the long-awaited in-person celebration of the 40th anniversary of the division.

Fortieth-Anniversary Report

Celebrating the people and discoveries that have made the division such an amazing place over its forty-year history. This special edition report chronicles the history of the division and the many of the successes that its unique culture facilitates, spanning the breakthroughs of identifying the atomic structures of proteins, elucidating the molecular details of gene regulation, understanding the principles of development, and translating fundamental discoveries to treating cancer and many other diseases. Often the most impactful discoveries are serendipitous, which is one of the reasons that fundamental science continues to be so important to our future.

2020 Annual Report

The year was marked by many challenges related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, the division's resilience and determination meant we continued our mission of making foundational discoveries about biology and disease - including numerous breakthroughs understanding SARS-CoV-2.
