Nursing Departments and Services

At Fred Hutch Cancer Center, nurses work in a wide range of departments and services from immunotherapy to specific disease types and prevention to survivorship. Whatever your interest, strength or passion, there is a place for you at Fred Hutch.

Blood and Marrow Transplant

Blood and marrow transplant (BMT) team nurses work closely with others who are part of the transplant team, which comprises doctors, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, registered dietitians, social workers and other specialists. These nurses work in inpatient and outpatient settings, triage symptoms, answer patient questions and help coordinate care for patients receiving an allogeneic transplant, autologous transplant, cord blood transplant or long-term follow-up care.

Diagnostic and Supportive Care Services

Nurses provide a variety of diagnostic and supportive care services at Fred Hutch within departments such as supportive and palliative care, apheresis, the Wellness Center, radiation oncology, procedure suite, transfusion services and the Alliance Laboratory.

General Oncology and Hematology/Hematologic Malignancy Clinics

We have clinical nurse coordinators who work in Fred Hutch general oncology and hematology/hematologic malignancy clinics. Here they work closely with doctors, advanced practice providers and other supportive care service providers to support patients who have a specific disease. These nurses triage symptoms, answer patient questions, assist with procedures and help coordinate patient care from the patient’s initial visit through treatment.

Immunotherapy

Nurses working at Fred Hutch’s Bezos Family Immunotherapy Clinic provide a range of care from administering chemotherapies and immunotherapies to providing supportive care and assisting with bedside procedures. Other nurses work closely with doctors and advanced practice providers to coordinate care, answer patient questions and triage symptoms.

Infusion

Fred Hutch infusion nurses administer chemotherapy, blood products and other medications and treatments to patients who have different types of cancers and diseases. These nurses work closely with doctors, advanced practice providers, clinical nurse coordinators and other clinical support staff to ensure continuity of care for all patients.

Non-Clinical Departments

There are opportunities for nurses in many non-clinical departments at Fred Hutch, such as research; quality and regulatory; research, scholarship and program development; nursing education; employee health and safety; and infection prevention.
